Leveraging Web 2.0 Tools to Support Teaching & Enhance ProductivityKo and Rossen describe Web 2.0 tools as "
easy to learn and easy to apply tools that have built in sharing and collaboration features." Web 2.0 is also sometimes called "Social Media." Many of these emerging technologies allow for easy interaction and creation of content (from text to multimedia). The exciting thing about Web 2.0 technologies is that they are typically FREE, they don't require special technical or programming skills, and they can be used by both instructors and students.
Session Description: Learn about a variety of free online tools that can be used to support teaching and increase productivity. Learn how to use Picnik to easily resize and and enhance images, how to use Voki to create a speaking avatar, Viddler to record and encode video, and others as time permits.
